Aloha, I'm Bobi Moreno, owner of Kohala Country Adventures Guesthouse. I've been blessed to call North Kohala home since April 1974. I have enjoyed being a mother of many, an artist, and a  substitute teacher  for all subjects, grades k-12  in lovely, historic, Kapaau, on the northern  tip of Hawaii, the Big Island.

I can truthfully say  each day brings greater appreciation of  the unique beauty and  significance of  life in this  special corner of "paradise"!  We encourage you to spend quality time here, even a week or two. You'll be glad you did!

Our home has a colorful history of creativity, kids, travelers, and learning experiences.  It's too precious a place to keep all to myself, so I  share it's treasures with guests that are seeking a tropical getaway....near wondrous places to explore and experience, but "off the beaten track" just enough to feel you've entered "another world".

Flowers bring such joy! My gardens are my canvas..you'll find me there playing.

These are my son Tim's exotic bromeliads.

Kohala Country Adventures is now a "Guesthouse", not a traditional B&B, rather  "Beauty and Bed"...We grow some pineapples, bananas, papayas, lemons, avocados, tangerines, kumquats, and macadamia nuts, coconuts, so help yourself to fruit and nuts in season. Kona Coffee blends and herbal teas are in the rooms.  The Sundeck Suite, Garden Bedroom, and Ohana or Common Room have dining areas and the means for some  food preparation. Each of our units has a small fridge, and a deck with table and chairs to enjoy the lovely views and usually great weather.

We have a variety of fine, friendly grocery stores, a Saturday Farmers' Market, and many excellent places to eat nearby or within a scenic drive. Picnics watching whales play along our magnificent coast are a must December-April!   We are a multicultural community. come enjoy the "taste of Kohala"!

What diversity you'll find in unique North Kohala! Everything can be an adventure here! Celebrate with us Kamehameha Day, June 11, with our 9am parade, complete with paniolos and pa'u riders , then have lunch and hear Hawaiian music at the Kamehameha Park; join us at our October Kohala Country Fair with great music, dance, games, contests, arts and crafts, jewelry and food; hear our finest musicians play at the Slack Key Festival in September.  Visit our historic sites, beaches, golf courses, take our many adventure tours, visit our art galleries, unique  shops with excellent arts and crafts, or just sit by the sea or under a tree and just enjoy!

Our guests have included people from all walks of life who are  honeymooners, anniversary couples.. (one the 50th!),class and family reunions, wedding parties, Valentine's surprises, proposals, business trips, youth groups, bonding, bicyclists, astronomers, ecotourists, history and culture buffs ..lots of garden enthusiasts, photographers, artists, artisans, nature lovers, whale watchers, hikers, horseback riders, fishermen, snorkelers, surfers and  above all, beachcombers.

We've enjoyed guests from Mexico to Brazil, many European countries: England, Scotland, France, Italy, Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland and many from Germany; Russia, Jerusalem, South Africa, Egypt, India, and even Iran, the south Pacific Islands ,the Philippines and of course, our honorable Japanese guests.  Many have returned, some as often as two or three times a year.
